Amanda Gallop, Light and Darkness
Updated: Oct 15, 2020
It is light.
In the darkness.
What is?
Art.
Me.
Everything.
That’s all we are.
Implantations from a smarter self
Rise to the surface
For the “dullard” to retrieve.
When did she learn to call herself that?
Was it when she couldn’t understand long division so she tried to just copy down the example
As accurately as possible?
In hope that with enough repetition,
(that’s a whole other poem we gotta stay on track)
Is it you? You who have been shepherding me?
Keeping me out of trouble?
Out of the darkness?
But the darkness is good.
As the light is good.
Both are within me.
I choose.
